2011 Camp
The 2011 camp is scheduled for May 19th - 22nd.  For more details on the camp, please visit the the Ole Miss FFC site!

Album Summary
The Ole Miss Football Fantasy Camp is an incredible weekend!  It allows you to gain an inside look at the Ole Miss football program at the level that's most comfortable for you!  You have the choice of participating as a player, coach or owner - each of which has its own challenges!  Activities include participating in the drills the Ole Miss players go through, getting to practice on Vaught-Hemingway stadium, interact with the entire coaching staff and much more!

Interesting Notes and Stories

2007 Camp
When I landed in Memphis, I didn't know anyone.  However, the hospitality I received - starting with one of the GAs (Kyle Strongin) coming to Memphis to pick me up, continuing throughout the weekend, and ending with one of the Fantasy owners (Terry Crawford) giving me a ride back to Memphis - was incredible and was greatly appreciated.

While the drills and preparation for the flag football game were exhausting at times, I appreciated getting to experience the same intensity that the players go through.

During one of our breaks on Saturday, Eli Manning, who was there for the Ladies Forum, came over and spent a few minutes with us.  He was kind enough to take a group photo with us.  That was just one of many very neat experiences throughout the weekend.

Getting to play the flag football game on Vaught-Hemingway Stadium was an incredible experience.  The blue team, which I was on, won - which meant we got to come back in the fall and watch the warmups from the field.

At the end of the camp, I was awarded the Rookie of the Year award.

On Saturday night, someone from the camp convinced two lovely ladies to pose with me while we were in The Library.  :)

2008 Camp
This year's draft was held in The Library, and was set up like the NFL draft.  When you were selected, you put on a cap and held up your jersey.  It was a very neat experience.

During one of our breaks on Saturday, Archie Manning, who was there for the Ladies Forum came and spoke with us for a bit.  I still laugh when I think of the story he told us all before he left.

During lunch, the coaches went through film with us.  It was amazing to see them break it down - not only from what their position players were / weren't doing right, but also what the rest of those on the field should have done.

We went through the same pre-game routine the players do - by getting on buses and then walking through The Grove and then into the stadium.  Yet another incredible and memorable experience!

Because of humidity and injuries earlier in the day, the game was played on the IPF field instead of Vaught-Hemingway.  The Rebeletes performed during halftime, and the red team (which I was on), won the game!

2009 Camp
Because of different scheduling issues, this year's camp included an overnight trip to Tunica.  It was an enjoyable side trip, and a good time!

During one of the on-field drills, Dave Childers made a point of personally introducing me to Coach Nutt.  Very cool, and very much appreciated!

2010 Camp
For this year's photo with Coach Nutt, it was taken like we were calling a play.  To see the full gallery, please visit Blake's 2010 FFC Photo Album  You can see the photo of me with Coach Nutt by clicking here!

During the Saturday night banquet, Coach Beaumont presented me with the Chucky Mullins award for Courage.  Very unexpected, and a very BIG honor!

2011 Camp
For this year's camp photo, we got to put on shoulder pads, helmet and a practice jersey for the 'Landshark' photos.

It was very encouraging to see that my effort is paying off.  I was able to push the sled with 360 lbs of weight 10 yards.  The last few yards were a struggle - but that's up from either an empty sled or 90 lbs from last year!

I was very happy that we did the position drills outside on Vaught-Hemmingway this year.

Coach Nutt's hospitality Saturday night was very much appreciated!

Because I'm more focused on participating in the camp than I am on taking photos, I only have a few.
